Really fantastic movie, my favorite in Documentary category. If a film can manage to keep me hooked for the whole time, that's impressive. The Shock Doctrine is a long movie, with the space to expand and explore all it's features. The world of the film reminds us very much and we can identify with each other. You just have to watch The Shock Doctrine online. The film director once again proved that his entire film can focus the attention of the viewer. Plot summary:
Naomi Klein lecture tracking confluence of ideas on how using "shock therapy" of Milton Friedman and the Chicago School to change behavior through shock therapy and other sensory deprivation and modification of the national economy. He moves in chronological order: Pinochet's Chile, Argentina and his junta, Yeltsin's Russia, Bush and Bremer Iraq. The imaginary villain provides distraction or rationalization: Marxism, Falkland Islands, nuclear weapons, terrorists; and always, there is a large shift of money and power a few of the many.
